Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that, after an ongoing investigation, Tamika Samuels, 33 of Independence, was arrested January 13 on 15 counts of monetary instrument and one count of forgery.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division began investigating reports of suspicious banking activity occurring in a local business account on January 7. As a result of the investigation, detectives discovered that Samuels and several others have been using this business account to make on-line purchases and on-line payments. These purchases and payments totaled approximately $6,000.

Samuels was arrested and properly charged for these offenses. This investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may be forthcoming.
