TANGIPAHOA PARISH President Gordon Burgess and Tangipahoa Parish Library Director Barry Bradford are all smiles after learning the parish will receive more than $1.55 million toward the construction of a new Amite Branch Library and TPL Administrative office facility in Amite. Burgess said the money, funded by a state CDBG award, will pay nearly 50 percent of the estimated $3.2 million cost of the new complex, which will break ground in early 2011.
