The TRACC coalition would like to remind the public of the checkpoints that are being conducted throughout the parish by TRACC's Law Enforcement Taskforce member agencies. Agencies involved are Louisiana State Police, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, Hammond Police Department, Ponchatoula Police Department and Amite Police Department.

The checkpoints are being filmed by Full Power TV and can be viewed on Charter Network channel 17 or on demand at FPTVonline.com or link to the episodes from TRACC's website at www.tangitracc.org. Also, the Coalition has placed billboards along interstate 55 and throughout the parish in locations in Hammond, Ponchatoula, and Amite to remind citizens of the consequences of drinking and driving.

The TRACC coalition along with our law enforcement agencies and other community agencies are working hard to make our highways and waterways safe for the citizens of Tangipahoa Parish. You can help by reporting unsafe drivers from your cell phone dial *577 or call our anonymous underage drinking hotline: 1-877 NOT-B-4-21. You will never be asked for your name and may be eligible for a cash reward if your tip leads to an arrest through Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa. If you would like more information on other ways you can get involved with the TRACC Coalition call (985) 748-3211 or visit www.tangitracc.org. You can also visit our booth at the 2nd Annual Tangi Night Out Against Crime in Amite from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3rd.
